Cafeteria
The cafeteria is open throughout the school day, however students are not allowed to purchase food or non-water beverages outside their lunch period. It provides nutritious lunch and snacks for students at a reasonable price. During lunch times a teacher is always on duty to help students and ensure safety. Glass bottles and cans with sharp edges are prohibited to ensure students’ safety. Parents may open a debit account with the cafeteria for their convenience.
Back to topCounseling Department
The Counseling Department is composed of a Guidance Counselor who is available for all students to handle scheduling, testing, college applications, students’ records and student counseling. The Counselor is also available for parental consultation by appointment. In order to ensure prompt and adequate intervention, Counselors should be kept informed of changes that affect students, such as physical/emotional/health issues. The Counseling Department is also in charge of providing transcripts, but these must be requested at least five (5) working days in advance, via the Principal’s Office.
Back to topInfirmary
The infirmary has a central location easily accessible to students. We have a full time medical doctor (M.D.) on staff. Should a student need to take medication parents need to bring their doctor’s authorization and prescription to our doctor who will administer the medication at the proper time. Students are not allowed to self-medicate. When a student feels ill they are sent to the infirmary with a pass. The doctor will evaluate him/her and call the parent if necessary. As soon as the doctor medicates the student he / she will be sent back to the classroom with a pass.
Students from any grade level who have contagious illnesses are required to stay at home for the amount of time specified by the doctor. If they return to school before that time without written permission from their doctor, they will be sent home. Parents’ cooperation is greatly appreciated to help us avoid epidemics.
